Coordinate services and assist families or individuals address epilepsy-related independent living concerns. This includes, but is not limited to vocational, financial, transportation, medical management, school and social issues.
Provide information about the complex issues surrounding epilepsy with newsletters, books, print materials and various other media sources.
Educate individuals or family members about their particular epilepsy concerns and provide support as they cope with medical and related psychosocial issues.
Facilitate peer contacts to provide socialization, education and support. Support groups meet in several different communities throughout our service territory. A statewide camp for children and a retreat for adults with epilepsy are offered annually.
Provide information about available, pertinent community resources.
Work in cooperation with the other Wisconsin Epilepsy Foundation affiliates and with the national Epilepsy Foundation's Speak Up Speak Out program to support legislative measures that benefit people with epilepsy.
